From the Principal's Desk
One of the most exciting parts of my week was hearing about the many ways that our students are shining! One of Freeman’s choral students, senior Olivia Poso, was awarded 2nd Place All-State B in category of Choral Solo and Ensemble. This high recognition certainly reflects Olivia’s hard work and talent – Congratulations!
Congratulations also to Lily Crosby for her award-winning painting and Harper Sefton for her award-winning photography. Both ladies received 2nd Place Awards in this year’s NEWESD 101 Regional Art Show. This competition includes works from students at all schools throughout Eastern Washington – way to go Lily and Harper!
I’d also like to congratulate Jack Florence – Jack has been awarded, and accepted, an appointment at the United States Air Force Academy. Congratulations, Jack, and may I offer our sincere gratitude for your service!
As we roll into next week, the registration process for the 25-26 school year will begin. Our school counselor, Ms. Holm, will begin visiting with students in English classes over the next several weeks. Registration begins with course requests: students indicating what they are interested in taking; student requests then drive the building of a schedule that tries to satisfy as many student requests as possible. FHS registration is not a process by which the schedule is already created and by which students are placed in that schedule on a first come, first served basis; rather, FHS registration is data gathering system to create the best scheduling possible which is finalized in late spring. New this year is a course guide that will be online and linked to our website. Ms. Holm will be sending details about accessing this digital advancement soon.
Go Dawgs!
