College and Career Readiness
  • Heidi Youseph, M.Ed.
    College & Career Counselor

My name is Heidi Youseph and I am the College & Career Counselor at Freeman Middle School and Freeman High School.  I am excited about working with students and families as students explore career options and begin making postsecondary plans for being college and career ready (CCR).  College & Career Readiness means students graduate from high school prepared for success in a wide range of high-quality postsecondary opportunities.  Being prepared means students have the knowledge, skills, and disposition needed to be successful in any pathway they choose to pursue.  A few of the ways we connect students to opportunities are:

College & Career lessons taught at each grade level.

    ● College and Industry Partner visits.

    ● Community events such as the North Palouse Industry Fair and the Spokane National College Fair.

    ● Individual planning sessions with students and families.

    ● Senior Information Night

    ● Financial Aid Information

I am continually striving to bring updated information to our schools, giving students a chance to explore what is available in our community and the surrounding area.  Please contact me if you have questions or would like to schedule a meeting. I look forward to meeting with you!

    Jake Wash
    College & Career Counselor Intern

Hi, my name is Jake Wash, and I am a graduate student in the school counseling program at Whitworth University. I am excited to be doing my practicum and internship here at Freeman. I will primarily be working with Heidi Youseph in the career counseling department. Working with students and families as the students begin to think about their plans beyond high school is something I am really looking forward to be doing in my time here at Freeman. When I am not in school or in my practicum/internship, I work at Whitworth in the career center as a graduate assistant. I am excited to use my knowledge and resources that I have learned from working in the career center in a different school setting. I believe being at Freeman will be a great opportunity for me to learn and grow in my school counseling journey. I am very excited to be working with the students and helping them on their post-high school journey.
