For the last 24+ plus years the lower field has been home to middle school baseball and softball. What basically started out as swamp land has been transformed into a grassy field that is used for middle school softball in the fall and middle school baseball in the spring. Approximately 15 years ago new backstops and wing fences were added to both fields along with a full fence that both blocks people out from driving on the lower field while serving as an outfield/homerun fence for the baseball field. Within the last 10 – 15 years the lower field also became home to middle school football practices in the fall. With the addition of high school girls soccer the lower field also became home to the Lady Scotties soccer team in the falls. The lower field serves many purposes for the Freeman School District. Along with being the home of middle school baseball, softball, football and girls high school soccer, it serves as the practice facility for many local little league baseball, grid kid football and boys and girls soccer teams. |
