The Freeman football field is located on the south side of Freeman High School running in an east west direction. Originally it was running north and south along Jackson Road.

In the late 1970’s it was changed to the position it is currently located. In 2011, the field was renamed Kent Smith field after the long time teacher, coach, and principal. The entryway, which includes an archway and ticket booth, was a project spearheaded by Tim Smetana and group of Freeman community members. Most of the work was completed through volunteers and donations.

Since the press box is opposite of the home team, Freeman Football may be the only team in the state that runs sideline chains on the home side.
