    Mr. Moore

Welcome to the Business Education Department at Freeman High School. This is my 23rd year at Freeman, 38th overall.  It is exciting for me to teach this curriculum because everything we do has a direct and immediate impact on student success in the "Real World".  Research shows that Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses are instrumental in preparing our students for the next step - whether that be the work force, a two-year technical school, a two-year community college or a four-year institution. The following courses are offered in my department for 2019-20:
    Digi-Tools (Computer Applications)
    Digital Design (Web Design)
    Leadership
    Personal Finance

The Business Education curriculum and class offerings are continuously being revised in an effort to stay current with the needs of the community and business environment.  We are currently exploring "Microsoft IT Academy", which will help train students to earn industry certification.  Many of skills necessary to earn these certifications can be obtained in Digi-Tools, a "hands-on" class that every student should take in high school.

In addition to my teaching duties, I am also the advisor of the FBLA Chapter at Freeman (Future Business Leaders of America). This is an fun organization that brings business and education together through leadership and career development programs. FBLA prepares students for careers in business and business related fields. To find out how to get involved with this ambitious organization, please contact me at smoore@freemansd.org.

One more hat... I am also the Program Director for SOARS, the alternative school centered at Freeman, serving Freeman, Liberty, Oaksdale, Rosalia, and Tekoa.  Feel free to email or call with any questions you may have regarding our successful alternative school program.
