Mrs. Aune-Ruland

Welcome to my page.

I have been married to my husband for 33 years. We have two amazing adult children and one adorable Grandson. We have lived in the Freeman school district for 25 years. Our children attended Freeman Elementary, Middle, and High School.

I am excited to say this is my 31st year teaching. It is my 4th year at Freeman. I previously taught 8 years in the Lacrosse School District, and 19 years in the Sprague and Lamont school Districts. During my 31 years, I have taught second/third, third, third/fourth, fifth, and second grades. All the grades I have taught have been my favorite! This year I am teaching second grade. We currently have 20 students in our class. I enjoy challenging my students and have fallen in love with all their wonderful personalities.

This year we have added two technology based programs to our curriculum. All the second grade teachers received a one-year grant for Reflex Math. Reflex Math is a fluency program done on computers. The progress students have made has been impressive. I also recieved $100 from Freeman PTSA for having the most parents signed up as members and recently received another $175 from the Spokane Area Retired Teachers. This $275 pays for EduTyping, a keyboarding program for children. Having taught third grade the last three years, I know first-hand how valuable keyboarding and math fluency are for sucess in math and writing skills needed for grades 3-5.

I am hoping for a fantastic, fun, and growing year for my students and for myself. My wish is that my students know their teacher cares about them and has high expectations for their behavior and academics.  Please email me with any questions.
