    Thank you for the honor of teaching your child.  
     
      
          I'm excited to say that this will be my 30th year of teaching.  I've taught various grades in my career, but second grade is becoming one of my favorites.  I have a strong background in teaching young children to read.  There's nothing more exciting than seeing a young child become a confident reader.  Children energize me and keep me young at heart.  I can truly say that teaching young children fills my heart with joy.
         I look forward to working with you to help your child reach their learning goals. My job as your child's teacher is to help your child meet core standards and foster a love for learning.  There will be many opportunities for us to work together in the classroom and at home to help your child succeed.
