About Mrs. Smith
Dear Families,
I would like to welcome you to our Fourth Grade Classroom! I am very excited about the school year and the opportunity to discover, investigate, and explore with your child. This year in fourth grade we have a fantastic team ready to teach, encourage, and help all students reach their fullest potential.
This is my 26th year teaching at Freeman Elementary. I am a graduate of Central Washington University with a Major in Elementary Education, a Minor in Elementary Reading, and a Master’s Degree in Technology. I live in the Spokane Valley, and went to Chester Elementary, Horizon Jr. High, and University High School. I am very proud to be a teacher in the Freeman School District and always enjoy my days with the staff, parents, and most importantly the students! I have discovered a passion for teaching that is exhilarating and keeps me challenged each day. It is truly rewarding to work with children. Thank you for the opportunity to teach your child!
I believe the cornerstone to your child’s success in school starts at home. Although teachers can have great influence on a child’s life, nothing compares to the love and support of a parent. You impact success at school by staying connected and providing the love, structure, nutrition, rest, and safe environment for them to call home. On my end, I am committed to providing meaningful learning opportunities for every child in my classroom at their personal instructional level. Each child brings a unique set of abilities, interests, and talents that enriches our classroom community. Together, as a team, we can provide an education that sets the stage for success in life. Thank you for choosing to be a part of this journey!
I look forward to meeting or visiting with everyone soon, if we haven’t already. Parent-teacher communication is very important to me. This website contains classroom expectations, rules, and procedures as well as information on how to reach me for any concerns you may have throughout the year. Please take the time to go over these items with your child. Here’s to a great year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Smith
